WILDLIFE SAFARIS BASE IN THE LOWVELD

Several of our itineraries include an overnight visit to Hotel Numbi which is our base in the Lowveld, just 12 klms from the entrance to Kruger Park and where the open safari vehicles are parked when not in use. Your guide will arrange the change over from the microbus used for transfers from Johannesburg or Nelspruit & he will give you some tips on travelling in the open safari vehicle. We appreciate the support of the hotel management & we are sure you will enjoy their food !

Established in 1963 the Hotel Numbi and Garden Suites is about 20 minutes drive from the world famous Kruger National Park. Situated in the town of Hazyview, in the heart of Mpumalanga Province, the management & staff are proud to make every customer feel special and welcome. Guests can also visit Gods Window, Pilgrim's Rest, Blyde River Canyon and the wonderful waterfalls on the Panorama route.

The hotel offers 22 spacious and comfortable bedrooms all with air-conditioning, 8 channel DSTV television and highly appointed bathrooms en suite. Bedrooms on the ground level provide guests direct access to the pool and garden through a wooden sliding door, where the bedrooms on the first floor offer private balconies so that guests can enjoy the sub-tropical climate of the Mpumalanga lowveld. The Garden Suites offer guests the comfort of parking their vehicles near the bedrooms. All these rooms are air-conditioned, with television & en suite bathrooms.


The Main House has now been revamped and offers guests the choice of superior accommodation in a private garden with a pool. Some of the suites offer additional outside showers, there are two inter-leading family units, a romantic honeymoon suite, executive suite with a spa bath and the other Main House rooms are spacious twin rooms with bathrooms en-suite.

The Olive and Vine Restaurant A classical table d’hote restaurant prides itself on so much more than just it’s food. Ambience, atmosphere, music and warm, friendly service complement fine food, creating a memorable dining experience .

The Wild Fig & Pool Deck With the large wooden sliding door and windows open, guests can enjoy a view of the pool and tranquil sub-tropical gardens during breakfast. This popular buffet style restaurant is also open during the busy holiday season for groups . A selection of five starters, soup of the day, salads, stir fry, potjies, pasta`s, seafood, roasts and a variety of desserts are served in the Wild Fig.

The pool deck is where guests enjoy our traditional Lowveld braai. During the warm summer evenings with a boma fire and tribal dancers guests can enjoy the variety of salads, starters, desserts and “braaivleis”. This dining experience is offered to groups and guests during high season - weather permitting.
