• TRANSFERS:
  Joburg - Mohlabetsi return. Departs from O R Tambo airport at 06.45 so please arrange transport from your hotel to the Airport. You will be returned to O R Tambo Airport by around 18:00. For all other drop off locations please arrange a transfer from O R Tambo Airport.
• GAME DRIVES:
  2 drives in an open safari vehicle per night stay. Duration of each drive is approximately 3 hours in Big 5 territories.
• ACCOMMODATION:
  en suite Rondawel (round house)
• BUSH WALK:
  on request and usually takes place after breakfast
• MEALS / DIET:
  all meals served at the lodge including boma dinners

Mohlabetsi Itinerary:

1st Day
Board your shuttle at Johannesburg's O R Tambo bus terminal by 06:45 - directions to follow. Enjoy a relaxing journey via the maize fields of the Highveld, trout fishing areas around Dullstroom, Lydenburg then via the Valley of the Olifants. Arrive at Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge by 13:00. Check into an African style lodge room (rondavel) with aircon, insect screens and outdoor shower. Time to explore the lodge and to enjoy a refreshing swim. Join other guests for lunch in the gardens looking across to the waterhole where animals may come to drink. Meet your ranger for a late afternoon game drive which extends into the night when they set up spotlights on the vehicle to look for nocturnal species. All drives are conducted in Big 5 areas. Return to the lodge, freshen up and gather at the bar for drinks. Dinner is normally served in the boma with campfire, making it a most memorable evening.

2nd Day
Awaken at dawn then have coffee and homemade rusks whilst watching the sunrise. Head out for the early morning game drive which is the best time to look for lions. Return to the lodge for a delicious breakfast in the dining room. Relax at the pool or catch up on emails. Lunch in the gardens from 14.00 Afternoon game drive as above Traditional boma dinner with campfire and stargazing (weather permitting) Overnight to the sounds of the bush

3rd Day
Leave early for the sunrise game drive when your guide will be looking for any Big 5 species ( lion, leopard, elephant, rhino & buffalo ) as well as general game such as giraffe, zebra & antelope. Breakfast back at the lodge then maybe check for curios in the shop before departing. Farewell to Lodge rangers and staff.

Meet your shuttle round 11:30 for the return journey to O R Tambo Airport in Johannesburg arriving by 18:00.

General Information

• Refreshment / comfort stops will be planned every 2 - 3 hours during transfers. Please discuss the daily program with your guide.
• It is advisable to take precautions against malaria especially during the rainy season from October to May . We recommend insect repellent & protective clothing in the evenings . If you decide to use medication - Malarone tablets are the best for Kruger Park.
• Bring sunglasses, a small hat, swimsuit, a camera, torch / flashlight, light casual clothes for daytime and a warmer clothes for night drives. Remember there will be a chill factor travelling in the open safari vehicle especially from June - August.
• Gratuities to driver/guide, waiters and porters is not included.
