Explore the breathtaking Panorama route.
The route begins in the small tourist town of Graskop where you will find small coffee shops and boutique shops.
Travel to God's Window and take in the view of the forests 900m below, one can also take a short but steep walk up to a small rain forest.
The next stop is Berlin Falls (45m) and/or Lisbon Falls (92m), depending on time.
Next up are the very unusual natural rock carvings of Bourke's Luck potholes. Here you will get to experience the rock carvings created thousands of years ago by two rivers, the Blyde River (renamed the Motlatse River in 2005) and the Treur River, which meet at this point and as a result of turbulence and pebbles have created potholes in the sandstone. The two rivers continue to flow into the Canyon as the Blyde/Motlatse River.
Bourke's Luck potholes is also the starting point of the Blyde River Canyon (Now the Motlatse River Canyon). This is the third largest canyon in the world (After the Grand Canyon and the Fish River Canyon in Namibia) and the largest green canyon in the world at 25km long and average of 750m deep.
The final stop is the spectacular Three Rondavels. Here you will take in the view of three round mountain tops with slightly pointed tops resembling Rondavels (Traditional round huts). You will also get to see Mariepskop, the highest mountain in the region, it stands at 1 945m.
The Three Rondavels also marks the end of the Blyde/Motlatse River Canyon, the Blyde/Motlatse River exits the canyon and flows in to the Blyderivierpoort Dam which was completed in 1974.
Please note that the Panorama Route can also be done in reverse, starting at the Three Rondavels and ending in Graskop.
